Here’s how the iPhone 16 series battery holds up compared to iPhone 15

There's a nearly 10 percent improvement depending on the 16 model you go with

Reviews of the iPhone 16 series are dropping (you can find ours here), and through that, we’re learning more about the new phones’ battery life.

As spotted by Blog do iPhone, regulatory details from the Brazilian telecoms agency Anatel reveal how the iPhone 16 series stacks up to its predecessor. All in all, you’re looking at almost 10 percent improved battery life depending on the model:

‌iPhone 16‌ — 3,561 mAh (a 6.3 percent increase)
‌iPhone 16‌ Plus — 4,674 mAh (a 6.6 percent increase)
iPhone 16 Pro — 3,582 mAh (a 9.4 percent increase)
‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ Max — 4,685 mAh (a 6 percent increase)

On top of that, Anatel reveals battery duration for certain common uses of the iPhone, and we can see notable improvements with the 16 Pro and Pro Max, specifically, thanks to their A18 and A18 Pro chips:

  • iPhone 16 — 22 hours of video playback, 18 hours of streaming video, 80 hours of audio
  • iPhone 16 Plus — 27 hours of video playback, 24 hours of streaming video, 100 hours of audio
  • iPhone 16 Pro — 27 hours of video playback, 22 hours of streaming video, 85 hours of audio
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max — 33 hours of video playback, 29 hours of streaming video, 105 hours of audio

Versus:

  • iPhone 15 — 20 hours of video of playback, 16 hours of streaming video, 80 hours of audio
  • iPhone 15 Plus — 26 hours of video playback, 20 hours of streaming video, 100 hours of audio
  • iPhone 15 Pro — 23 hours of video playback, 20 hours of streaming video, 75 hours of audio
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max — 29 hours of video playback, 25 hours of streaming video, 95 hours of audio
