PS5 system update comes with Welcome Hub and adaptive charging

Adaptive charging is only rolling out to PS5 Slim and future PS5 Pro owners

PlayStation’s latest system update brings a lot of new features to the console and even the accessories.

The first feature is the Welcome Hub, a new personalized space with customizable widgets and backgrounds on your PS5 home screen. This will roll out globally in a few weeks but currently is only available in the U.S.

Another feature lets users share party voice chat links on messaging and social media apps, and this functionality will also be rolled out globally.

Other features include personalized 3D audio profiles for headphones and earbuds, the ability to adjust Remote Play settings per user, and the ability to choose who can connect to your PS5. If you own the PS5 slim or the PS5 Pro, there’s also adaptive charging for your controllers. Adaptive charging will help save power by adjusting how long the power is supplied to your controller based on its battery level.
