Almost a year after its release, at IFA Berlin, I had the opportunity to sit in the uLove3, a well-being massage chair. And dang, did I love it. It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t Osim’s flagship chair; that spot belongs to the uDream; however, the company had the uLove3 at the event to show off its collaboration with Pininfarina, a famous Italian designer known for his Ferarri designs.
First and foremost, this chair isn’t for everyone. Its usual price of $12,980 CAD (currently on sale for $8,980) is a lot for a chair, and most won’t want to spend so much on this. Of course, this is a well-being massage chair, and it would work great with someone like my mother, who has fibromyalgia. Or if you have a lot of money to spend on the best chair I’ve ever put my butt on.
The uLove3 was so incredibly comfortable that it changed sitting for me in the worst way possible. Now, every time I sit anywhere else, I’m left a little disappointed, and I’m constantly missing this chair.
Before even turning the chair on, the uLove3 was comfortable; it felt like the reclining type at certain movie theatres. Plus, there’s an entertainment stand for a device like an iPad that can operate the chair’s app to control it.
However, once you activate the uLove3, the chair really shows how ‘Osim’ it is.
Like everything else on the market, the chair has an AI feature. This measures the user’s stress and gives you a ‘Body Tension Score’ as well as other well-being indicators. Then, you can create a specialized massage program based on what the AI believes is best for your body. If you have multiple people sitting on this chair throughout the day, the chair can recognize what’s best for each person’s well-being.
The chair has sensors on both armrests to measure stress. These sensors include an ECG that can help accurately measure stress. The chair also measures heart rate, respiratory rate, and guided breathing exercises.
I received a moderate body tension score, but it was on the high end of moderate. I then received a massage that was specific to my well-being.
It massaged the balls of my feet, behind my legs, my butt, my hip, my hands, shoulders, neck and head. It also played soft music, and even though I was on the show floor, I nearly fell asleep on this chair. I use my insurance to get massages occasionally, and honestly, this did a better job. While I wish the chair spent longer massaging some areas, the overall massage was excellent and so incredibly relaxing. I left the chair with a lower body tension score at the shallow end of moderate. And I felt it, my body felt more relaxed than it has in months. I loved it.
We also did a pre-programmed massage called ‘stretch,’ which should help before heading to the gym. It was good, but not as great as the AI-lead massage. Aside from the AI massage, there are seven massage types, including Head & Neck, Neck & Shoulder, Lumbar & Butt, Stretch, Sleep, Sport Recovery and Beauty. My sessions were for 15 minutes, so I could only try out AI-guided massage and the Stretch, but I want to try them all out.
It can also play immensely calming music or go through a breathing exercise with you. I preferred the calming music, as the breathing exercise wanted me to breathe in and out deeply when I just wanted to relax and sleep.
The uLove3 has some pretty interesting features, including a leg-reflex massage that massages and keeps your feet and ankles warm. There’s also body-warm technology that can envelop your back and calves to enhance circulation and help with stiff or aching muscles.
While this chair does all this awesome stuff and looks great, it’s also very stylish. Even the brown and black models look nice, but Ferarri Red is beautiful.
I absolutely loved the uLove3 and like I mentioned, I am a bit disappointed now when I sit in every other chair. The uLove3 is a high-end well-being massage chair that I wish I could be sitting in right now.
You can grab the uLove3 for $8980 CAD with $0 interest-free financing.
I can’t wait to have my own uLove3 in my house to use when I’m working on my laptop, playing games on console, watching TV, eating, sleeping… I may never get off the chair.
