The best leather cases for the Google Pixel 9 are from Bellroy

If you want a leather phone case, there's only one brand you should be considering

The Pixel 9 series is here, and by far my favourite cases are the leather options from Bellroy. Not only do they feel great in the hand and fit the new phones perfectly, they also come in some beautiful colours and offer magnetic rings for MagSafe and Qi 2 compatibility.

I’ve been using a Bellory case on my Pixel 7 Pro for two years, and it’s been great and held up nicely. Now, with the 9 series, Bellory is back with a new trio of cases and some fun new colours. My personal favourites are the Ruby Red Pixel 9 Pro XL version and the Lilac for the Pixel 9 Pro, but my coworkers have been more partial to the Mint green and Terracotta options as well, which proves that there’s a colour here for everyone. And if you don’t like colour, there’s always black.

Each case has a soft microfibre lining, and while you only see it when the phone is out of the case, I appreciate that Bellory decided to give the linings on most of the cases a nice pop of colour. The orange on the interior of the Terracotta case is exceptionally lovely, and I really hope the company decides to do a case with that colour on the outside since it’s such a nice shade of orange.

Each case also comes with anodized aluminum buttons, which offer a nice click and stick out a good amount to make it easy to feel where they are so you can hit them without looking. I’ve had to do this a few times when biking when I want to crank the tunes when my favourite songs come on.

While all these features are great, what really matters is how good these cases feel in the hand. Bellroy has been known for its leatherwork for years, and the gold-rated LWG leather it’s used this year feels firm enough to stand up to the abuse a phone case has to endure while still feeling supple and soft like good leather should.

Add in the magnetic ring for MagSafe/Qi2 accessories, and these cases will become some of the most premium around. And if you already have a few magnetic accessories from your time on iPhone, it’s really gratifying to be able to use the same ones on Android. I’ll also note, that while the Bellory Pixel 9 case doesn’t feature the magnet ring, the 9 Pro case fits on the Pixel 9 perfectly and does include magnets.

The cases come with a three-year warranty so you should be able to get it fixed or replaced if something happens to it over the years as you use it. Bellroy also notes that the lighter shades of leather will patina faster and may adopt wear or marks from being in denim pockets more than the darker colours.

On Bellory’s website, the Pixel 9 version of the case is $59, the 9 Pro option is $75, and the 9 Pro XL is $79. The company offers two-day shipping.
