Amazon Prime Day is happening in Canada on July 16

Following on its yearly sales extravaganza, Amazon Canada is back with its Prime Day on July 16th.

Prime Day, which is now actually a day and a half of discounts, is exclusively reserved for Amazon Prime members and starts Monday, July 16 at 3:00pm EST.

Amazon noted that this year will see bigger deals than 2017 and will be offering up “all kinds of exclusive offers and deals” leading up to July 16th. So far, a 25% savings on all Amazon Basics and Pinzon essentials, $130 off GoPro Fusion camera (now $760). In addition, through its Twitch service, Amazon is giving away a new game every day with the first being Pillars of Eternity. In a statement to MobileSyrup, Amazon Canada said, “to celebrate the first Prime Day for Whole Foods Market stores, Prime members in Canada will receive $10 off all in-store purchases over $50 from Wednesday, July 11 to Tuesday, July 17.”

There already seems to be some “Prime Early Access Deals,” such as the Acer Chromebook 11 for $219.00, and the Echo and Echo Dot for $99 and $39, respectively.

As for other notable items to look out for, Amazon teased that Prime Day will feature “double the deals on Amazon devices” and the biggest deals yet on home security, smart home and Alexa-enabled products.

A Prime membership in Canada costs $79.00 per year plus taxes with a free trial. Residents of Quebec, instead of a free trial, receive a 13-month membership for $79.00.
