If you recently bought the Essential Phone, now at a more attractive $650 outright at Telus, Essential has issued yet another update for the phone’s less than stellar camera app.
The app’s latest update adds a new portrait mode, allowing owners of the bezel-less smartphone to capture shots of people, objects and cute pets (like the one in the company’s tweet) that feature an attractive blurred background.
In addition, Essential promises that the update should increase camera app stability, as well as image quality with a new tweak that reduces JPEG compression. What’s more, the company is giving users more control of the exposure in their shots with a new exposure compensation dial.
We're excited to roll out a new camera update that includes portrait mode, reduced compression to improve image quality, and more. Download the update here: https://t.co/zXoZ765GHF pic.twitter.com/rCFJlLCYAm
