LG’s streaming service Channel Plus is now available through 2017 LG UHD smart TVs running webOS 3.5 in Canada, along with sports streaming service DAZN.
Channel Plus is a platform that aggregates over-the-air channels and over-the-top streaming channels. The underlying framework is powered by Xumo, which provides similar solutions to partners like Hisense, Vizio and Panasonic.
LG says the programming available on Channel Plus includes free content from over 50 IP channels like Mic, Funny Or Die, America’s Funniest Home Videos, PBS Digital Studios, PeopleTV, TMZ, The New Yorker and bon appétit.
Meanwhile, DAZN owns the Canadian NFL digital streaming rights, and also offers content from beIN Sports Canada, including selected UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches, among other things. It costs $20 per month or $150 per year.
