Google’s first dedicated virtual reality headset is now on sale in Canada for $99 CAD at Best Buy, Bell, Telus, Rogers and the Google Store. So far, the headset is only compatible with Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, though the company has indicated more ‘Daydream-ready’ phones are on the way.
At launch, the headset will be available in the ‘slate’ colour option, with ‘crimson’ and ‘snow’ colours becoming available at a later date.
Daydream View was first teased at Google’s developer conference I/O 2016. It features cloth design elements in an aim to increase comfort for the user and comes along with a dedicated controller the features a clickable touchpad and tactile home button and app button.
