Lenovo’s Phab2 Pro, the world’s first Google Tango-enabled phone, debuted to the world in early June this year and ever since the copy on its Canadian product page has stated “Coming This Summer.”
Unfortunately, it’s now fall (or quickly approaching if you adhere to technical rules) and the phone remains unreleased.
In Canada, the text on its website remains the same, but in the U.S. it has now been changed to “Coming This Fall,” while a blog post published on its website in early August that was seemingly targeted at American consumers stated “The Phab 2 Pro will be available in stores this holiday season.”
The much-anticipated augmented reality-capable device has a 6.4-inch QHD, four cameras and 4,050 mAh battery. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 652 SoC and 4GB of RAM. The fairly robust specs allow the phone to complete various augmented reality tasks including measuring real world objects or playing 3-D games against the backdrop of real life.
The company’s Canadian website shows the phone as being available for $499, the same amount as quoted for U.S. customers. Other than that, nothing is yet known about Canadian availability.
