Microsoft brought iOS users its popular Office Lens app in April, and after a short stint with 130,000 Google+ community previewers, all Android users can now officially download the portable scanner app from Google Play.
Office Lens competes with other scanner apps, such as Evernote and Scanner Pro, but one advantage it has over those apps is its integration with Microsoft’s OneNote and OneDrive services.
When taking a picture, no matter from what perspective, Office Lens will identify the document with its optical character recognition (OCR) software and automatically crop, resize, and convert it to a Word, PowerPoint or a PDF document, allowing users to edit, save or share the file.
Microsoft stated it’s seen 1.3 million downloads for iPhone and 70,000 for the Android preview. The total amount of Office Lens downloads, including Windows Phone users, is now over 3.5 million.
