According to the Wall Street Journal’s “people familiar with the matter,” Apple is going to announce an online TV service in June, then officially launch in September.
The report indicated that Apple has been speaking with several broadcasters such as ABC, CBS, Walt Disney and Fox to offer about 25 channels, which would be a “skinny” bundle aimed at customers who want to “cut the cord” from their cable provider. Users will be able to stream content to their Apple device, such as Apple TV, iPhone and iPad and the rumoured monthly cost expected to be between $30 to $40 per month.
Apple declined to comment on the report. Unfortunately, there was no indication if the service will be available in Canada when it officially launches.
