Google announced today that it has added real-time transit information for the city of Vancouver.
In a post on its Lat/Long blog, Google said it has made significant improvements to its public transit info worldwide, beefing up data points in the United Kingdom, Chicago, much of Brazil and, of course, Vancouver.
Overall, Google’s transit data “spans six continents, 64 countries and more than 15,000 towns and cities worldwide.” Most big cities in Canada, including Montreal, Calgary and Toronto, are already supported.
Last week, Google released a significant update to its Google Maps app for iOS and Android, adding a “Depart at” option for transit users.
