Uber launched its popular app and taxi service in Toronto last year and it now seems they’re getting ready to expand. On the company blog today, Uber declared that Montreal is currently in a “testing phase” and availability of taxis will be limited. Uber also notes that “if you can’t get a car at first, try again in a few minutes!”
If you’re unfamiliar with Uber, the service allows you to hail a taxi, choose a pick-up location and immediately be informed of how long you’ll be waiting from the app. In addition, Uber gives you the option to pay for your ride within the app so you actually don’t need to carry any cash. The system is set up to send you a receipt to the email you register with.
Uber also is offering a sweet deal by giving $15 off your first ride with the code ‘UBERMTL.’
