Toronto Star will be taking its paper to another level tomorrow. The publication has released a video that shows they’ll bring deep integration of augmented reality to its print pages. The Star has teamed up with Amsterdam-based Layer for the initiative and readers will be able to see specific sections of Thursday’s paper “come alive in a way it never has before.”
All you have to do is download the app to your Android or iOS device, scan it over a section and it’ll ‘spring into motion.’ The Star says that you can meet your favourite writers, ‘gaze in wonder’ of the Northern Lights, listen and watch the ‘sounds of Toronto,’ plus get a peak at the new Ripley’s Aquarium.
Make sure you check out the video below, plus download Layer here.
