We informed you last week that the Acer Iconia family, including the 10.1-inch A500 and the 7-inch A100, would be getting an update to Android 4.0.3 in the coming weeks. Indeed, the A500 was supposed to go live on the 27th with its smaller kin starting a week later, on May 4th.
Turns out Acer flipped the switch a bit early, and the A100 is getting its ICS update as we speak. Users of the device are reporting it is being updated to build 1.014.00_WW_GEN1, with a kernel version of 2.6.39.4+.
If you recall, the A100 has a 7-inch 1024×600 display, 1Ghz Tegra 2 processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP camera on back, 2MP camera on front, and a mini HDMI port.
Staples currently sells the tablet for $279.86 which is not a bad deal for an ICS tablet.
Have you received the update to Android 4.0.3 on your Acer Iconia A100? Let us know.
(Thanks Scott!)
