Fresh new iPhone rumours coming at you this morning. In addition to the larger edge-to-edge display that will possibly be coming to the next iPhone, Apple is apparently thinking about throwing curved glass on it too (like the the 4th generation iPod nano). DigiTimes reports that Apple is assisting manufacturers with the high up front cost and has purchased 200-300 glass cutting machines for them. The reports also noted that “The glass slicing machines are currently being stored at associated assembly plants and will be brought online once yield rates for the production of curved glass reaches a satisfactory level”. The report doesn’t state which way the curve will be but seeing curved glass on the iPhone would be cool… but it’s not new for mobile phones. Samung, who Apple is currently suing for copying their “technology, user interface and innovative style“, came out with a slight curve on the Nexus S last year.
