British Columbia currently has area codes 604, 250 and 778 and it looks like there might be a shortage of numbers going around. The Canadian Numbering Administrator has advised the CRTC that they project a telephone number shortage by August 2016 – the main cause is for the increase of wireless users. No worries though as the CRTC is creating “a Relief Planning Committee to evaluate various relief options and make recommendations”.
If you want to have your say in what the strategy could be you can get involved by calling 613-563-7242, by fax at 819-994-0218 or write to: the Secretary General CRTC Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0N2 by December 3, 2010.
