Bell set to increase the monthly price of select wireless plan add-ons this month

bell-canada

Bell’s latest quarterly results revealed the communications giant earned $1.8 billion CAD in wireless revenues and its subscriber base is currently sitting at 8,380,949. Despite its positive earnings, however, the support page on Bell’s website indicates data rates are on the rise this month.

“As you may be aware, Bell invests over $3 billion every year to bring you the very best network technology available in the world,” says the carrier on its website.

Most notably, Bell’s 6GB of data add-on will be increasing by $10 per month for smartphone and tablet users. In addition, the Canada to U.S. long distance add-on will see a $5 per month jump. Finally, the data blocking feature will be increasing by $2 per month.

“We’re proud that the quality of our network means that our clients can enjoy their devices to the fullest extent possible, but unfortunately the weak Canadian dollar has significantly increased the costs of maintaining our world class network technology. To that end, please be advised that effective November 2016 the following Add-ons will be increasing in price.”
