iOS 9 will lay the framework for Apple Pay in Canada

The latest details on iOS 9, courtesy of 9to5Mac, suggest that Force Touch capability and haptic feedback will be included in the next iPhone, which is now expected to be called the “iPhone 6s.”

Force Touch was recently added to the new MacBook and Retina MacBook Pros. It enables users to perform additional functions when they add pressure to the trackpad. For iPhone users, it’s expected that Force Touch will function in many of the same ways. For example, pressing down while in the Maps app will drop a pin onto a location. Other use cases include the option to look up the definition of a word by pressing down on it.

In addition, iOS 9 will reportedly bring an updated keyboard. According to 9to5Mac, Apple believes that the “QuickType keyboard in iOS 8 is not always accessible enough, so it is working on ways to make that experience more prominent across the system.”

Finally, for those interested in Apple Pay, iOS 9 will set the framework to bring the feature to Canada. The Passbook app will include support for banks, credit cards, debit cards, and credit unions in Canada. Apple Pay, the company’s mobile payment and digital wallet service, is expected to arrive in Canada by November.
