TuneIn Radio is one of the best ways to listen to free radio streams and podcasts on your mobile device. The cross-platform solution has native apps for Android, iOS, Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10, and today’s update for Google’s platform brings a few highly-appreciated features to the table.

The most important of these features is the ability to hold down on a stream to select its bitrate, something that was not easily performed in previous versions. The app has been visually tweaked to look better on a number of Android devices, too, including 7- and 10-inch tablets.

And lastly, TuneIn now allows users to input custom URL streams into the app, which expands the listening profile beyond just the company’s (admittedly well-stocked) directory of content.
