CyanogenMOD 10 shown running on the LG Optimus 4X HD, coming soon to your device?

The slow creep towards Jelly Bean is upon us, as manufacturers (hopefully) and developers (definitely) take the newly-released source code and attempt to fashion it to work on multitudinous handsets.

The first evidence of this progress is from noted Android developer Ricardo Cerqueira, who does magic with various LG devices. He’s loaded the source build, plus a few choice CM changes, to the yet-unreleased-in-Canada device and shows working camera, phone calls and sound. There are some broken aspects to the ROM, such as Google’s newly-revamped Search/Now portal, but we’re hoping those will be fixed in the coming weeks.

When will your device receive CM10? If it already has working builds of CM9 RC1, most likely sooner than later. If it never received anything above CM7, don’t count on it any time soon.

Hit the break for a brief video demo of CM10 running on the LG Optimus 4X HD.
