Apple says white iPhone 4 is “more challenging to manufacture”, available “later this year”

There’s a good quote by Henry Ford that goes something like “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black”. Well I guess it’s going to be the same way for the new iPhone 4. Apple said in a statement today that “White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.” (The image above is from the AT&T site and no pricing has been officially announced yet for Canada.)

It’s true that the black version of the iPhone is more popular but it’s a bit unfortunate that Apple has somewhat hit another hurdle with this product. The good news is that we’re only a few days away from it’s Canadian debut on July 30th.

We’re conducting a quick poll to see if Canadians are going to purchase the new iPhone 4. So far 39% say Yes! Cast your vote here
