Moto G (2014) receives Marshmallow update in Canada

Motorola, as promised, has brought Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Moto G 2nd generation users.

Some of the improvements you’ll see on the Moto G (2014) include improved battery life, app standby mode, do not disturb mode, Now on Tap, Direct Share, and Motorola features such as Moto Assist, Motorola Migrate, and Motorola Alert.

The update should already be available on the Moto G. In order to check for it manually, navigate to Menu > Settings > About Device > Software Update > Update.

Motorola, which is now a Lenovo company, stated earlier this year that it “isn’t going away” and that its new “Moto” branding is “synonymous with Motorola.” The company says it will continue to push out updates and new products, specifically the Moto G as its remains one of its most successful smartphones.
