It looks like Microsoft is not the only smartphone manufacturer planning to announce new devices at the beginning of October. LG just sent out an invite to press outlets, asking that they attend an October 1 event in New York City.
In the invite the South Korean company did not specify what it plans to announce, but most publications are speculating that, at the very least, we’ll see the V10 smartphone Evan Blass leaked at the start of the month. The device is notable for the “ticker” type display that is located above the phone’s regular screen.

According to Blass, the V10 will feature a 5.7-inch 2,560 x 1,440 pixel screen, a Snapdragon 808 SoC, 3GB of RAM, expandable memory, rear fingerprint scanner and a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera.
It’s unclear if the V10 will make its way to Canada. In any case, we’ll have more information on October 1.
