Samsung adds month-to-month Care+ tier and theft coverage

Care+ includes loss and theft coverage only available in Premium plan

Samsung is changing how Samsung Care+ works in Canada, bringing a new month-to-month payment experience. You can purchase Samsung Care+ within 60 days of purchasing your new Samsung smartphone.

Samsung Care+ offers coverage for accidental and liquid damage, mechanical breakdowns and battery replacement. Samsung Care+ Premium also features loss and theft prevention and unlimited repairs. Care+ also includes convenient repair options such as same-day walk-in service.

Samsung says it sees a 30 per cent increase in repair calls for the summer months, likely because people are more out and about. Month-to-month offers a layer of flexibility for consumers who don’t want to be locked into a long-term plan and just want protection during the summer.

Samsung isn’t getting rid of the 12- and 24-month plans.
