Alexa+, Amazon’s new generative AI assistant, is now fully available in Canada in both English and French. The new version of Alexa was previously available through the Early Access program, but is now available at no additional cost for Prime members in Canada across Alexa-enabled devices, Alexa.com and the Alexa app.
Alexa+ is more conversational and personalized, offering a home assistant experience that can take action on your behalf, and is smarter, faster and more capable than before. You can even say ‘Alexa, upgrade to Alexa+’ to get the new version, which is super cool. You can also visit amazon.ca/alexaplus to enable Alexa+ or sign up for Prime with a free 30-day trial if eligible.
According to Amazon, Canadians who are already using Alexa+ are engaging with the AI a lot more, increasing smart home usage by 60 per cent.
Alexa+ does things like make reservations or appointments with OpenTable, explore and play music, order groceries, and suggest recipes or restaurants that are vegetarian and have Alexa+ remember you’re a vegetarian.
You can ask Alexa to summarize details, add items to your calendar, upload study materials and turn them into a quiz for your kids and a lot more.
