Toronto-based tech accessory maker Dbrand created the KillSwitch Joy-Con grips a while back, designed to have better ergonomics than the base Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons. While a massive success on paper, there was just one problem: the holder.
Anyone who wanted to use the Killswitch grips with the Switch 2’s Joy-Con Grip for a more traditional controller experience was out of luck. But after some buyers took the initiative to make their own custom holders, Dbrand set out to create a custom grip that put the control for comfort fully into users’ hands. While Dbrand has made custom grips, sticks and cases for the Switch 2 and Joy-cons, this was its attempt to change the very holder that keeps them together.

Dbrand is now selling its new Joy-Lock Controller Holder. The holder features the unique ability to change the Joy-cons’ angle, ranging from parallel, similar to the current Switch 2 holder, to wider than the Xbox controller angle. The holder is also compatible with Dbrand’s Killswitch Joy-Lock Grips, giving players a comfortable gaming experience, no matter what controller shape they are used to.
Both the Joy-Lock Controller holder and Joy-Lock Grips are available to purchase for US$19.95 (C$27.11). However, buying the grip and holder together saves US$5 (C$6.79), costing US$34.98 (C$47.54). Notably, the Joy-Lock bundle comes in just a couple of dollars more than Nintendo’s Switch 2 Joy-Con Grip ($31.99).
If gaming on the Switch 2 is uncomfortable, the Killswitch Joy-Lock accessories may be worth grabbing to help level up gameplay.
