Mode bomber jacket charges devices wirelessly in your pocket

Imagine a world where you never need a charger when you're out

Mode, a California-based wearable company, brought its new bomber jacket to CES 2026. As a lover of fashion and tech, Mode is creating a lightweight wearable jacket that I’m a big fan of.

How it works: Put your smartphone, tablet or headset and more into your designated power pocket, and your device will charge wirelessly. It seems simple, but sometimes simplicity is best. Imagine every time your phone is dying, you just put it into your pocket, and it starts charging.

Mode’s wearable energy infrastructure stays discreetly in the waistline of the jacket and powers the bomber via magnetic pogo pins embedded in the jacket. There are also AI-powered haptics to let you know when your battery is dying. The battery is about 15,000 to 20,000mAh or 75Wh.

There’s also a wire to charge a mobile device in case it can’t use wireless charging.

On top of powering your jacket and devices, there are small textile heater panels in the chest area, torso and your non-charging pockets to keep your hands warm.

The bomber jacket comes in sizes from XS to XXL, and the estimated retail price is US$499 (CA$692); however, the Mode bomber isn’t on sale yet.
