Videotron announced its new 2.5 GIGA symmetrical speed internet plan.
The service is now available in many parts of Quebec, including Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Montérégie, Québec City, the Laurentians, Saint-Jean, Bas-Saint-Laurent, and Côte-Nord. It is powered by Videotron’s 100 per cent fibre network.
Videotron’s GIGA symmetrical speed plan offers the same download and upload speeds of up to 2.5Gbps, providing what Videotron calls “lightning-fast symmetrical speeds.”
The Quebec-based telecommunications company recommends the fibre optic network to connect families, people who work from home, and content creators due to the matched upload speed, which is beneficial for large file uploads, streaming, and online gaming. The plan also includes a system to reduce latency.
Recently, Videotron announced Operation High Speed, which was set to provide high-speed, fibre-optic internet to more than 37,000 homes within the province. Videotron also recently announced another major GIGA expansion, which brought speedy internet to more than 350,000 homes in Quebec.
