Google’s reported screenless Fitbit band spotted on Stephen Curry

The device will require a subscription model to access all features

Google is reportedly looking to expand the Fitbit lineup with a new band that has zero screen and leans heavily on subscriptions and AI. According to Bloomberg, this new fitness band will compete against wearables like Whoop and Oura.

Users will receive health tracking insights through the Fitbit app. And while users will need to purchase the band upfront, a lot of the features will require a paid subscription; however, Bloomberg didn’t offer a potential price point. The band will lean hard into Google’s Gemini-powered personal health coach, which will offer insight into mental health, recovery, nutrition, hydration, and cycle tracking. Google recently announced the update to its Fitbit personal health coach.

Stephen Curry (an NBA player for the Golden State Warriors, who also lived in Ontario briefly) teased the band on his social media. The band has a grey cloth with orange lining and looks similar to Whoop’s band. However, Google will likely offer a variety of colour-shade combos.

It’s possible we’ll see the band in the near future, considering Curry is pretty much promoting the device.
