Vimeo has followed in the footsteps of Facebook and YouTube with the launch of support for 360 video.
The company announced the addition through a post on its official blog on March 8th. The post also states that along with support for the medium, Vimeo is making available several online tutorials designed teach users how to make 360 videos.
The video company has already curated a channel specifically dedicated to 360 video to “inspire” its users to become familiar with these tools on its platform.
To access these immersive video functions, users need only to upload a video as they normally would, and then select “This video was recorded in 360” box at the bottom of the page.
To watch a 360 degree video on Vimeo, simply drag your finger across your mobile phone to look around. If you’re viewing on desktop, users can click around or use the arrow keys to explore all dimensions of the video.
Creators with Pro or Business memberships can choose to sell their videos, rent them or offer them on subscription.
