Microsoft has announced that most Canadian students — over 4 million, from elementary school to university — now have free access to the entire Office 365 suite at no cost.
The company held a U.S.-focused press conference back in February to make the announcement, and later that month extended the invitation to many schools around the world, but today Microsoft Canada says it has completed the rollout to all participating schools.
The offer extends to Office on the web, on Windows and Mac, as well as Android, iOS and Windows Phone, with support for up to five devices registered on an account. Microsoft has been opening Office access to an increasing number of people, providing value-adds like 1TB of OneDrive data, along with each signup.
Microsoft announced a Preview of Office 2016 for Mac earlier this month, and today also extended the experience to Windows users through a Office 2016 Preview for Business.
Office 365 includes Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote.
