HTC is following Motorola, Oppo, Xiaomi, and Samsung with the launch of a new charger that offers users of its current generation smartphones accelerated charging.
Dubbed the Rapid Charger 2.0, this accessory just cropped up on the company’s U.S. website and has yet to receive a formal announcement from HTC (other than a quick mention on Twitter from the HTC’s global communications manager). Like most of the aforementioned quick chargers, the Rapid Charger 2.0 is based on Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which was announced this past June.
HTC’s Rapid Charge 2.0 will support the HTC One M8, the HTC One E8, the HTC One Remix, the HTC One M8 Harmon Kardon Edition, and the upcoming HTC Desire Eye. We’ve reached out to a HTC Canada rep for information on pricing and Canadian availability.
