WIND Mobile is the first Canadian carrier to release the new Moto G, an updated version of the popular low-cost smartphone released last year.
While it’s already available unlocked at Staples for $250, WIND Mobile offers the device for free on a Tab with a $40, $50 or $60 plan, $99 on a $35 plan or $249 outright.
There’s no word on whether other carriers will be offering the new Moto G in the future, but it’s unlikely any of the incumbents will pick it up, as it lacks LTE coverage. Rogers and Fido currently offer the first-generation Moto G with LTE, while Koodo offers the original HSPA+ version for $150.
