Tumblr for Android received an update with a couple features many heavy users were looking forward to for a long time.
The app now has photoset support, the ability to create a mini album by curating more than one photo from your gallery. This was previously only available on iOS, and was a major sore spot for heavy Tumblr users on Android.
Another feature that was lacking, again available on other platforms, was inline GIF playback. Previously, users had to tap on GIFs to make them animate, something that didn’t make a lot of sense in the wait-for-nothing world of social networks.
The app now also has landscape support, which improves the layout for larger Android tablets, and it’s possible to double tap on images to zoom in and out.
With this update, Tumblr shows its support for the growing Android community.
