This is an interesting move.
Last week LG announced that the G2 will be available ‘beginning September 27′ at various Canadian carriers. However, if you take a gander over at regional carrier SaskTel it seems that they’ve officially launched the G2 and became the first carrier in Canada to release LG’s new flagship Android. We’re not sure if this is an error, or if stock is in-store, but their site does give you an option to purchase it online today for the following pricing:
– $179.99 on a 2-year contract
– $549.99 on a 1-year contract
– $599.99 Prepaid/Monthly/outright
The LG G2 has a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display (1080 x 1920 resolution, 423 ppi), 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB internal memory, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 3,000mAh battery, runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and sports the unique back volume button deisgn (which also doubles an app launcher and camera shutter).
Update: SaskTel tried to pull a fast one. Unfortunately the availability of the G2 was premature (screenshot below) and it’s now ‘coming soon.’ In an email to us SaskTel noted that “SaskTel has not yet launched the LG G2 and won’t do so until September 27th at the earliest.” However, the various prices are still online.
