Box for Android updated with refreshed interface, resizable widget

Box updated its Android app today, bringing a refreshed interface and a new resizable widget, along with a number of performance improvements and bug fixes.

The company is attempting to woo consumers and business customers alike with this new app, and is conforming to Android’s new design guidelines to differentiate from Dropbox and other cloud storage services.

Because Box emphasizes collaboration, the new app has a feed that shows the latest updates from a certain set of users. Also available is a grid view with the same purpose.

The app also adds a considerable amount of offline support, for when a cellular connection is not available. There is also a new resizable widget, in case you’re into that.

Along with the update, Box’s CEO Aaron Levie claimed that the app has been downloaded on Android 4.4 million times, and is one of the category’s most popular services.

Box is also optimized for Android tablets, which Dropbox cannot claim. Grab it here from Google Play.
