This may not be the biggest piece of news you’ll hear today, but it certainly got me excited. For those tens of thousands of Pebble smartwatch backers, the most successful product to emerge from a Kickstarter project to date, today’s the day you can finally call this thing real. The company sent out emails asking those who sprung for a colour model which one they wanted, and announced that a new Grey colour is available.
Previous colours, aside from Artic White and Jet Black, were announced to be Cherry Red and Orange. The Grey colour was only added today. While Pebble has previously said they’re not going to be able to ship their smartwatch in September, it seems that an October release is becoming more likely. Considering the inexperienced team had to go from idea to design to manufacturing in under six months, I’d say this is a pretty amazing feat.
