Remember Kai, Nvidia’s project to bring Android tablets below the $200 mark? Well, considering Google just brought out the Nexus 7, it seems to be in full force.
HTC could be the next recipient of a low-cost Jelly Bean tablet running Tegra 3. With a NenaMark benchmark entry by a HTC project with the name Vertex, the ostensible tablet runs a 1.3Ghz Tegra 3 SoC at a resolution of 1280×800. It seems to be using the full Android tablet layout, however, which cuts off 48 pixels from the bottom of the screen. I’d guess, however, that the tablet will either be a low-cost 10-inch slate or will compete with Google at the 7-inch $199 price point.
The Taiwanese company hasn’t found much success with its tablet line, essentially abandoning its 7-inch Flyer and 10-inch Jetstream before they could be updated to Android 4.0.
