On February 1st Samsung stated that “The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product”. Since this date there has been several rumoured launch date – all pointing towards April – and also a spectacular list of impressive specs: OS 4.0, 4.8-inch 1080p display, 1.5Ghz quad-core processor, 8MP camera and a 2MP front-facing camera, NFC, LTE and a ceramic body and 7mm thin.
Samsung has taken to Twitter about the rumours. If Google translate is correct it reads “[Please note] Some known through press releases Galaxy S3 4 stand is not true. Once a specific launch date we will notify you via Twitter first”.
So there you have it, Samsung said the GS III will be announced sometime during the “first half of the year” and that we’ll be notified “via Twitter first”.
