Even though customers have been seeing carrier billing from Nokia’s Ovi Store since the end of April… it’s now official as Nokia sent out a press release stating that “Nokia’s Ovi Store is open for business in Canada. Offering integrated billing with all major carriers… with Bell, Rogers and Telus”. So this is not yet available through Wind Mobile or Mobilicity.
The Ovi Store allows you to download free and paid apps, games, themes and ringtones to your mobile device. No word on Canadian stats but worldwide the Ovi Store has over 1.7 million downloads per day.
Richard White, General Manager, Nokia Canada said “Integrated billing is a big success for Nokia Canada. We are proud to be one of the first manufacturers and Nokia offices in the world to offer integrated billing with all major carriers”.
