TELUS “Unleashing” something June 8th…

There’s this teaser countdown somewhere on the TELUS site (can’t find it now or it’s taken down) that states something is “Unleashing on June 8″. The easy guess would be the HTC Triumph we’ve been talking about for a few weeks now. Hopefully that would be it because the specs look wicked. June 8th is only a mere 2 weeks away…

Update: Seems like this is only targeted to BC and Alberta and only located on the Telus.com homepage, not mobility.

Update #2: We’ve been informed that the “unleashing” that TELUS will be doing on the 8th is actually Telus IPTV to a wider area (outside Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton) to anyone who is able to get Turbo High Speed internet.

  1. Can’t believe they’re making a big deal out of the Triumph.

    Oh well, the TV commercials for it will be interesting at least.

  2. Unless it’s the iPhone which is being announced on June 7th. I doubt it though, as Apple probably would not approve of them advertising it potentially coming out that day.

  4. I think the Triumph is a pretty big deal. Unless you want something with a keyboard this is pretty much the best HSPA+ phone available on the market.

    Until the 4th gen iPhone and handset like the Motorola Shadow show up, IMO this is the phone to get. (if you don’t already got your Nexus One!!! =)

    I just thought i would let you guys know that this TRIUMPH you guys are talking about has been out for 2 years and really goes by the HTC s720. triumph was the code name for the device before launch. Got this info from a reliable source for htc.

  18. Ok if it’s BC/Alberta it has to do with landline, Internet or TV. Unleashing sounds like it involves making wireless something that is normally wired…

  19. At a guess, I would say Fiber-to-the-house,(in select markets).
    Telus has been setting this up for a few years and it is probably ready to launch.
    100 Mbps on fiber, and increased DSL speeds on copper.

  21. It’s not wireless related else it would have been on telusmobility.com. Most probably Telus must be getting ready to release their fibre optic internet service like Bell did recently.

  24. actually…. just got off the phone with Telus rep because they called about signing me up for another couple years. He said the Triumph…not desire is coming out in a week…June 8th. Sweeet.

  27. I confirmed with my telus rep today that it is in fact the IPHONE 4G that is being announced on the 8th of June 2010, along side its unveiling from apple
