The next big Nintendo Direct is finally happening on June 9

Not counting game-specific showcases, we haven't had a main Direct since September

Nintendo Direct June 2026

It’s official: the next Nintendo Direct will be held on Tuesday, June 9 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT.

The Direct will run for about 50 minutes and feature upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch games. It will be immediately followed by Nintendo Treehouse: Live, a roughly 95-minute deep dive into some of the games featured during the main show.

You can stream the Direct via Nintendo’s YouTube and Twitch channels.

Besides coming during the busy Summer Game Fest week, this Direct is particularly notable because it’s the first of its kind in a long time. While Nintendo has held various Directs focused on specific titles over the past several months, like the Star Fox remake, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie or games from third-party partners, we haven’t had a main first-party-focused Nintendo Direct since September 2025.

As always, Nintendo didn’t provide any tease of what to expect from the latest Direct. That said, there are several games that will likely make an appearance. In particular, we don’t yet have release dates for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave or FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods, both of which are slated to hit Switch 2 this year. Other confirmed Switch 2 games include the aforementioned Star Fox (June 25), Splatoon Raiders (July 23) and Pokémon Winds and Waves (TBA 2027). There’s also been rumours of an Ocarina of Time remake, and they seem more credible now considering they surfaced alongside the since-announced Star Fox remake.

In any event, we won’t have to wait long to learn more. In related news, check out our round-ups of PlayStation’s recent State of Play, the Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase and Xbox Games Showcase + Gears of War: E-Day Direct.
