Google’s latest streaming device, the Google TV Streamer, has already hit a bump in the road.
The streaming device is reportedly having issues with the Disney+ app, according to reports from users on Reddit.
According to users, the main issue is that the app isn’t showing any video when trying to play a title on the platform. Some users have reported that only audio is playing, with the video not showing up.
Although there is no official fix for the issue just yet, some users have discovered workarounds that allow the app to load the video. First, some users found that casting the content from their phone avoids the problems with the Disney+ app on the TV Streamer.
The other apparent workaround, however, is simply changing the resolution. Users say that changing the streaming resolution from 1080p to 4K fixed the issue. However, it isn’t a consistent fix, as users still struggle to load movies and certain TV shows.
This doesn’t appear to be a widespread issue among devices; it appears to be isolated to the Disney+ app on those devices. It also doesn’t appear to impact everyone — MobileSyrup’s editor-in-chief Jon Lamont hasn’t encountered problems with Disney+ on his Google TV Streamer. So far, Google’s community help team has redirected affected users to contact Disney for a proper resolution to the issue.
