Oppo shows off next OnePlus foldable and it’s crazy thin

Oppo has started teasing the Oppo Find N5, which will likely launch in Canada as the OnePlus Open 2

This new device is as thin as a USB-C port, and a promo image showcases that it’s as thin as four credit cards.

Oppo claims that this is the thinnest foldable phone yet, meaning it must be thinner than the Honor Magic V3’s 4.35mm thickness. In another promo image, it’s compared to an iPhone 16 Pro (maybe Pro Max), which appears to be about half the size, suggesting that it’s close to 4mm.

This lines up with earlier leaks that stated the phone would be around 10mm when folded. Earlier leaks also suggested a Snapdragon 8 Elite and 16GB of RAM. We’re also expecting a large round camera bump like OnePlus’ other recent phones.

The product manager of the Oppo Find series, Zhou Yiabo, also shared that the foldable will offer best-in-class waterproofing, but so far, he’s said nothing about dustproofing.

The OnePlus Open that launched in Canada was a rebranded Oppo Find N3. This Find N5 is the successor to that phone since Oppo skipped the N4 since four is an unlucky number in China.

The N5 is slated to launch in China next month, which will paint a much clearer picture of what the phone looks like. It will likely come to Canada closer to the end of the year. More recently, the OnePlus 13 launched here, which is based on the Oppo Find X8.
