Asus opens up registration of free GPS dongle for Transformer Prime

As we showed you this morning, Asus’ free GPS dongle for the Transformer Prime is not as sleek as we’d like it to be, but it’s free so who’s complaining? The company, as promised, has opened up registration for its add-on as a promise to customers to provide the best possible customer service for its new product.

The Transformer Prime, which is powered by a Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, is one of the most powerful tablets on the market and since being updated to Android 4.0.3, one of the smoothest. But GPS issues have plagued the company since its release, forcing them to release multiple updates which helped some but not others. Asus reiterates that the tablet is “not a professional GPS device” and that though “we are pleased to announce this offer as part of our commitment to customer service, it does not replace, alter or amend any existing warranties you may have.”

In order to receive the dongle you must sign up for Asus’ free membership program, enter your tablet’s serial number along with home address and you’re good to go. Shipping is free, and the offer expires on July 31st, 2012, so get cracking!
