Facebook is shutting down its Hello, Moves and tbh apps

Facebook app on phone

Facebook has announced that it is shutting down its Hello, Moves and tbh apps due to low usage.

Originally launched in 2015, Hello allowed Android users in Brazil, Nigeria and the United States to combine information from Facebook with contact details in their phone. The app will be terminated in a “few weeks,” according to Facebook.

Moves, which Facebook purchased in 2014, is a fitness app that records daily activity, including walking, running and cycling. Moves and the Moves API will both end on July 31st.

Finally, tbh, which originally launched only 11 months ago, enables U.S. high school students to send anonymous compliments to one another. Facebook acquired the app in October.

“We regularly review our apps to assess which ones people value most. Sometimes this means closing an app and its accompanying APIs,” Facebook wrote in a blog post.

“We know some people are still using these apps and will be disappointed — and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support. But we need to prioritize our work so we don’t spread ourselves too thin. And it’s only by trial and error that we’ll create great social experiences for people.”
