Video: TELUS Samsung Galaxy S II X quick overview

The heavily anticipated and desired Samsung Galaxy S II “Hercules” is coming to TELUS, but will be called the 4G Galaxy S II X. This is a beautiful device and I finally got some hands on time with it today. We’ll have a full review up shortly but here are some initial thoughts.

First, the display and all its 4.5-inches is impressive. It’s vivid and bright and has a resolution of 800 x 480. The X – wish I could call it the Hercules – has this wonderful chrome band that surrounds the device and makes it feel a bit more elegant and upscale compared to the other Canadian Galaxy S devices. There’s also the usual ports, volume rocker, 3.5mm headset jack and power button. The back of the device is made of plastic, but feels like leather (which adds to the build quality). There is also has the familiar chin at the bottom that we’ve seen on previous devices, such as the Fascinate and the Fascinate 4G.

The Galaxy S II X is no slouch. This comes packed with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and can possibly reach peak download speeds of up to 42 Mbps, comes with a 1850mAh battery. We’ll post speed test in our full review plus a battery life test too. The camera is an 8 megapixel that shoots 1080p HD videos, plus has a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. We’ve also confirmed that NFC capabilities will be enabled, finally this is currently running Android OS 2.3.5 Gingerbread. No word yet on price points yet but this will be available of TELUS soon. We’ll have our full review up shortly…

Update: Something happened with the video upload of the Video quality test, we’ll post it up again shortly.
