Using a mobile device has shifted the way Canadians communicate, work and socialize. A large part of this is the design of a specific smartphone or tablet, but more importantly, its the software that makes it all work, specifically the applications.
According to the CRTC’s 2016 Monitoring Report, Canadians appetite to access mobile applications, multi-media services, social networking, Internet browsing, and other data-intensive activities have driven smartphone adoption rates higher and wireless data revenue growth to over 15.7 percent in 2015, and on average, 18.8 percent over the past five years.”
Canadians love being connected and with over 30 million Canadians hooked to mobile devices, the latest stats stem from a Flurry report in February indicating that mobile app usage has increased to 74 percent in Canada in 2016, which is up 11 percent from the global average.
