The 45 million BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) users send over 100 billion messages every month and RIM is going all out to bring a better experience to the popular service. They are reaching out to their developer community and giving them a chance to join the upcoming “BBM Apps Hackathon” event in New York City. The 2-day event is happening on August 11-12th and has a goal to help developers integrate the BBM Social Platform into their apps, basically giving their app a wider audience.
